Pete Carroll is number 1. He is the highest university paid employee in the USA making $4.4 million per year. That is 4 times what the president of USC make (and 11 times what the President of the United States make.) What asked about this he said “I'm humbled to be so filthy, filthy rich. And jacked.”
Some people might argue that he is grossly over paid and that this just so horrible in such a bad economy, but I say that Pete Carroll is worth every single penny. Look at how the team has been winning and how much revenue they bring in. Under Pete Carroll USC has two won championships and three Heisman trophies. In the 90’s USC lost 8 games in a row against UCLA and 11 straight against Notre Dame. Think of all the revenue that USC football team brings in, now that they are winning. Currently USC draws 90,000 spectators per game and don’t forget about increased ratings for USC football. Just in one home game they make enough to pay his salary. Before Pete Carroll USC’s football program was a complete disaster, now they are the best in the country. The bottom line is, he’s worth it because he brings in the doe.
